1.What is the main work of a CPU?

A-The CPU is the brain of a computer.

It controls all the information it receives And stores it in its memory.

2.How does a computer understand?

A-A computer can understand only two States  On and Off. On represented by 1 ,off represented by 0.

3.What are bits?

A-The two digits 0 and 1 are called bits. These are also called binary digits.

4.How does a computer store  its data?

A-The data store in computer memory is in the form of BITS which is measured in bytes .

8 bits =1 byte.

5.What are two types of memory?

A-Internal memory 

    External memory

6.What are two types of internal memory?

A-RAM 

    ROM 

7.What are four types of external memory devices?

A-1.Hard disk

8.What is internal memory?

A-Internal memory is also called primary memory or main memory. It stores data and instructions while the computer is working .The data is erased when the computer is turned off.

9.What is the full form of RAM?

A-Random Access memory.

10.What is RAM?

A-RAM stores the information temporarily .The information stored in the memory is lost when you turn off the computer.

11.What is the full form of ROM?

A-Read Only Memory

12.What is ROM?

A-ROM holds the startup instructions that prepare a computer for use. It checks the proper working of all computer parts when you turn on the computer.

13.What is external memory?

A-External memory is used to store information for a long period.

14.Explain the term hard disk.

A-Hard disk is the main storage medium for computer .It is fixed inside the CPU .It can hold a large amount of data.

15.What is the storage capacity of a hard disk?

A-2TB to 5TB.

16.Explain the term CD.

A-CD stands for compact disc . It can store 700 MB of data. It can hold text, graphics ,sound, image and video on it.

17.Explain the term DVD.

A-The full form of DVD is Digital Versatile Disc. It is used for data storage and for recording movies with HD quality.

18.What is the storage capacity of a DVD.

A-4.1 GB to 17 GB.

19.Explain the term blue ray disc.

A-Blu ray disc can store 25 GB of data on one side and 50 GB of data on its dual sides. Its capacity is 5 times more than a DVD. It is used for storing high quality sound games movies on it.

20-Explain the term flash drive/pen drive.

A-It is a plug and play device. It can be connected to USB port .It is used for copying and moving data from one computer to another.

21.What is the storage capacity of a pen drive.

A-It can store 2tb of data.

22.What is the main advantage of pen drive.

A- It is faster in accessing the data and more reliable

23.Explain the term memory card.

A- A memory card is used in portable devices like mobiles, digital cameras and music players. It can be easily removed for access by a computer.

24-How can we access the data in the memory card?

A-Using data cable or memory card reader we can access the data in the memory card .

25-What is multimedia card?

A-Now a days in digital cameras and mobiles, multimedia cards are available which are in very small size like postage stamp and it can store up to 128 GB of data.

A-Monitor, Keyboard ,CPU  ,Mouse.

A-Monitor shows the text typed and  displays the result.

3.What is a keyboard?
A- A keyboard has many keys on it .It is used for typing.

4.How many keys are there on a standard keyboard?
A- A standard keyboard has 104 keys.

5.What is the full form of CPU?
A-CPU stands for central processing unit .

6.What is a CPU?
A- CPU is called brain of computer. It helps computer to remember things. It helps computer to think and do all its works.

7. How many buttons are there on a mouse?
A- Two.

8.What is a mouse?
A- It is used to point, move and select item on the monitor .A mouse also helps us to draw pictures and play games
